Teach-back is a way to confirm that you have explained to the patient what they need to know in a manner that the patient understands. Patient understanding is confirmed when they explain it back to you. National Collaborative for Education to Address the Social Determinants of Health

The National Collaborative for Education to Address the Social Determinants of Health (NCEAS) seeks to accelerate the spread of the best approaches for identifying, understanding, and addressing social determinants of health by preparing the healthcare workforce. Their mission is to understand the complicated web of factors that lead to unjustly disparate health outcomes in poorer and more disadvantaged communities. The NCEAS team is united behind the belief that preparing healthcare practitioners to understand social determinants, and learn skills and approaches to addressing them, will improve the health of vulnerable individuals and communities. The NCEAS site contains research, toolkits, webinars, games, curriculum and curricular evaluations that can be used by health educators, healthcare professionals and students, and the general public.
