QSEN Expertise

I led the team at Emory that pilot tested integrating QSEN competencies (quality improvement, safety) across senior level professional development and clinical courses). I developed a 6-week module for students conducting a QI exercise including faculty mentor guidelines. In addition, I have been working on interdisciplinary competencies in healthcare design that include competencies in teamwork and quality.

My program of research is focused on nurse care coordination and reducing hospital admissions for at-risk populations. This work is relevant to the teamwork and collaboration and safety competencies. In future work, I will be looking at integrating research findings on nurse care coordination into decision support systems for nurses.
