Project Description
Closing the Education-Practice Gap: Infusing QSEN Competencies Across the Curriculum-Clinical, Classroom, and Lab
The vision for this project is to increase collaboration with clinical practice partners-Brigham and Women's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital to implement curricular change that aims at closing the education-practice gap. Innovations are planned across clinical teaching, skills/simulation lab and classroom settings. Dedicated Education Units (DEU's) at the clinical agencies will serve as the demonstration site for integrating QSEN competencies into new teaching and learning experiences for students and clinical faculty. Particular emphasis is on incorporation of technology, standardized communication strategies and new evidence-based teaching materials. This project includes the active role of students in shaping the learning experience.
